Social-Emotional Learning

At Speech Ally, we believe that learning how to build friendships, understand feelings, and express yourself confidently is just as important as learning how to speak. Our social-emotional support services are designed to help children connect with others in ways that feel natural and safe for them.

We take a neurodiversity-affirming approach, which means we don’t teach children to copy or “perform” social skills. Instead, we support them in understanding themselves and others, building true connection and confidence in who they are.

In our sessions, we help children grow in areas like:

  • Making and keeping friendships

  • Solving social problems and working through challenges with others

  • Understanding different points of view

  • Speaking up for their needs and preferences (self-advocacy)

  • Recognizing and managing big feelings (emotional regulation)

Every session is based on their interests, so learning feels fun and meaningful. Whether your child is just beginning to understand emotions or working on navigating more complex social situations, we meet them where they are and build from there.

We also work closely with caregivers, offering ideas and support to help children carry these skills into everyday life—with warmth, patience, and trust.
