Helping Children Find Their Voice and Reach Their Potential
Our highly trained therapists and thoughtful, welcoming staff have unparalleled experience serving families of our region. Our team truly cares about you and your children, and delivers the best therapy around so they can succeed in a variety of areas.
Speech & Language Therapy
At SpeechAlly, we help children become active language learners, and clear, confident communicators. Your child has unique strengths and difficulties, so our therapy sessions are tailored to your child’s individual needs and focus on a set of age-appropriate, individualized goals.
We combine a variety of evidence-based methods and therapy techniques to provide the delicate balance between unstructured floor play and structured activities that your child needs.

Common questions about speech & language therapy:
If you notice your child is having difficulty communicating, it’s a good idea to consult a speech-language pathologist for guidance. Early support can make a meaningful difference, helping your child build communication skills more naturally and confidently. Taking action early allows us to support their development at a time when they are most open to learning and growth.
Speech therapy focuses on how a child produces sounds and words. It helps improve clarity, fluency, and articulation (for example, saying “rabbit” instead of “wabbit”), as well as aspects such as tone, rhythm, and voice quality.
Language therapy supports what a child says and how they use words to understand and express meaning. This includes expanding vocabulary, building sentences, asking and answering questions, following directions, and retelling stories—whether through spoken words, writing, gestures, or signs.
Communication therapy takes a holistic and eclectic approach—it’s about helping every child, whether speaking or non-speaking, find effective and meaningful ways to connect with others. This may involve using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems such as communication boards, apps, or speech-generating devices, along with gestures, facial expressions, and body language. The goal is to empower each child to express their thoughts, needs, and emotions in a way that feels natural and successful to them.
At Speech Ally, we understand that every communicator is unique. Our therapists combine speech, language, and communication approaches tailored to your child’s strengths and preferences—ensuring therapy is functional, affirming, and supportive of their overall growth and confidence.
Occupational Therapy
Pediatric occupational therapy may seem like a strange concept: “My child doesn’t have an occupation, why would they need occupational therapy?” But your child does have an occupation! Their job is to play, learn, grow, and develop.
SpeechAlly's occupational therapists assist children in building the skills they need every day such as brushing their teeth, drawing, coloring, eating, transitioning between activities, writing their name, or playing well with friends.

Common questions about occupational therapy:
Many times this skill-building occurs naturally, but sometimes support is needed to make progress and gains. Pediatric occupational therapists help children engage in everyday tasks and routines they need for the “job” of being a child. Specific target areas include improving gross and fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, feeding, self-care, regulating behaviors, improving attention, and play skills. We help children develop the skills they need to grow into high-functioning, independent adults.
Therapy may take place in our sensory calming room, inside the peapod, on the swing, on a balance board, or in a quiet therapy space with minimal distractions—depending on your child’s needs. We also offer sessions in the comfort of your home, using everyday routines and activities to help your child build essential skills in a familiar environment. Our integrative approach allows us to flexibly adapt therapy environments to best support each child’s regulation, engagement, and progress.
Social Skills Groups
At SpeechAlly, we pair children with related goals and skill needs into small groups to practice valuable social skills, including working and playing together and having conversations. Group size can range from 2-5 peers, depending on their needs.
Social skills groups create a safe space to practice the many skills developed through therapy, such as meeting new people, asking and answering questions, keeping personal space, managing social conflict through role play, video modeling, and other fun group activities.

Common questions about social skills groups:
Social skills groups are where fun with friends happens! In our social skills groups your child will learn to “think socially” and be able to practice these skills with peers. Speech-Language Pathologists lead these groups in a variety of settings in order to teach friendship skills, empathy, problem solving and conversational skills. Your child will learn and grow in their social-emotional thinking all while in a safe environment to do so. There’s nothing we love more than watching friendships grow!
Parent/Guardian Education
At SpeechAlly, we know that involving family members in therapy is a vital part of therapy’s success. We are committed to providing education and support to parents, and we encourage them to attend their child’s sessions, practice techniques at the clinic, and incorporate learned skills into their child’s daily routines.
The more a child is exposed to the new technique, whether it is turn-taking, imitation, or practicing that stubborn “r” in a different way, the faster progress will be seen. You’ll be thrilled to be a part of the results!

Common questions about parent/guardian education:
We train family members so that they can be empowered to affect positive change at home. We know that empowered parents equal joyful kids! We offer seating in all therapy rooms and encourage parents to come in, watch, learn, and try. Because families are unique, parent/guardian education can look different for each family. We communicate therapy successes, practice techniques, and provide a weekly home focus every session.
Online Therapy
SpeechAlly offers both online speech and occupational therapy. Taking advantage of today’s technology, we support families when they cannot visit our clinics in person. Our speech and occupational therapists also blend their skills and experience with an expanding array of online games and tools.
Our online speech therapy and occupational therapy services provide the same high-quality therapy that we’re known for in our clinics! If you’re interested in learning more about our teletherapy offering, just ask any of our staff for more info.

Common questions about online therapy:
With a computer, tablet or other web-connected device, a child and therapist can efficiently work together toward therapy goals by interacting with each other on screen. Teletherapy also provides a valuable opportunity for therapists to develop home programs with your family – especially when incorporating strategies for self-care skills and/or sensory regulation (e.g. “sensory diets”). During these virtual “home visits”, our therapists can collaborate with you on custom, goal-oriented solutions right in your home.
